Hacking raises your DETECTION meter. At 100% — game over.
Below 35% — Standard scans only.
Above 35% — Defenders trace flagged nodes.
Above 65% — HUNT MODE: faster scans, honeypot deployment.
Traced nodes get QUARANTINED (locked 20-35s). Use Cloak and Proxy to stay hidden.
EVOLUTION
Spend EP to unlock permanent upgrades across 3 branches. Each evolution makes defenders 5% stronger.

JANUS ORIGIN (Final Boss)
The last level. JANUS ORIGIN is a sentient AGI that controls the network core.
JANUS AI — Actively defends, expands, and counter-attacks. Not a passive defender.
Rage System — Janus gets more aggressive as it loses nodes. Counter-attacks become faster and stronger.
Counter-Attack — Janus recaptures nodes adjacent to its territory.
Reinforcement — Border nodes gain extra resistance.
Win Condition — You must control EVERY node. The Janus Core mainframe can only be hacked last.
